"Actively Waiting On God " (Message may take a few seconds to load)
Text: Acts 1:12-26
Message Delivered by: Pastor Moore
This past Sunday we continued in our study of the Book of Acts. The Apostles were in that interim period between the ascension of Jesus and the coming of the Holy Spirit. It was a time of waiting. From looking
at verses 12 through 26 of the first chapter, four things were evident.
First, the Apostles were obedient to Jesus' commands to wait in Jerusalem.
Second, while waiting they continued in prayer.
Third, they acted upon what they understood Scripture to say.
Fourth, the outcome was left to God.
Many of us are waiting on God and are tempted to handle things in our own way and in our own time. Whatever, we are going through, we should take a page out of the Apostles' book; Obey, Pray, Act and Trust.
After all, we don't want to be dumb bunnies.
Growing and Reaching for Jesus.
Thanks pastor Eric.
The last time I prayed and then stayed awake all night I was so tired the next day from helping God. God did not need or ask for my help. God answered my prayer and in such a simple way, a way my mind did not [fathom]. So I will wait on the lord, and leave my help for people that need it.
"But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord and has made the Lord his hope and confidence. He is like a tree planted along a riverbank, with its roots reaching deep into the water--a tree not bothered by the heat nor worried by long months of drought. Its leaves stay green and it goes right on producing all its luscious fruit." -Jeremiah 17: 7-8 .
